At the edge of our galaxy lives a being known as the Monad. However, not all beings of our galaxy know of the Monad, and that is for the best, because of his power. If you cross him, then get ready for the annihilation of your species. He does not care for the lower creatures of the galaxy. The Monad is the only one of his kind, and unable to procreate. From the start of his evolution he has been immortal. One might not understand how he a single immortal being evolved, but it did happen. Since he is not organic, he does not have to evolve through inherited traits. The Monad is actually a combination of gases that have gained the ability to think through billions of years of slow evolution. He is held together through a strong attraction between the gases that make him up. Because of this makeup, he can not simply split in half to reproduce, doing so would cause his gases to dissipate into space. The Monad’s only activity is thought, he is a philosopher on the nature of our galaxy. He knows of every creature past and present that has ever existed. Not much is known about him, except this small amount of information. He considers himself better than other beings expect in one way, the ability to reproduce. The Monad knew that he should not let lower beings be better than him in any way, so he decided to fix this little technicality.

The Monad watched as other creatures cheerfully bore their young and raised them with pride. For the first time, he felt lonely. To be able to procreate, the Monad would first need to learn how, by studying other creatures who have the ability. He had never needed to leave his home planet before and therefore did not have the knowledge of high speed space travel. His powers enabled him to work from a distance, learning of far away creatures soley by using his mind. He has the ability to look onto any other place in the galaxy and possesses the power to send waves of gas to other planets in order to destroy the creatures there. He would first wait for a being to come to his world. In this way he could learn which beings had advanced far enough to be worthy of his study.

The first being to arrive, was a human. The Monad was very interested in this creature because of how far it had advanced. He decided that humans were worthy to be assimilated. So the Monad traveled to Earth with the human. The visitor showed the Monad all the great sites of Earth. The time was near, Monad thought as he toured the great cities of Earth.

The Monad then wrapped himself around the Earth and absorbed all creatures on it into him. He then made them part of him. The Monad now had a shared conscienceness with all the creatures that used to be on Earth. When the Monad took all the creatures, he only took their physical bodies and minds. Their spirits somehow became dislodged from their bodies. The spirits stayed on Earth and to this day they call Earth the ghost planet.

The Monad went back to his planet. He was no longer alone because of all the creature’s consciencenesses. The spirits on Earth learned how to combine themselves and eventually turned in to a Monad like creature. Both the Monad and the Earth Spirits have a shared conscienceness. And these creatures still roam the galaxy looking for enlightenment.
