by James McDuffie

It was like waking up,
Year after year I was asleep.
But then I opened my eyes,
And saw the World for the first.
What I saw was weird and strange,
A child I was no longer.

The coincidences happen to often,
The secrets hidden so open.
Life was a fragile rose,
And we were learning more,
About the space that surrounds
Our little blue sphere.

It was a time like no other.
Innocence was lost once again.
I had realized who I am,
For the second time after,
So long spent asleep.
It was once again me.
